To start a college basketball season with 25 straight wins, you have to be both good and lucky. The Syracuse Orange, without question, have been both in 2013-2014. Just three days after Tyler Ennis hit an amazing 40-foot buzzer-beater to knock off Pitt on the road, SU survived yet another ACC foe – this time NC State – in the game’s final seconds.
The Wolfpack led 56-55 with just under 14 seconds to play, but turned the ball over to Rakeem Christmas following an inbounds pass. Christmas found Tyler Ennis, who found C.J. Fair in stride for the game-winning layup. NC State had a final possession, but was unable to get a shot to fall. Via NBC’s Rob Dauster:
