We’re just over a week away from the Super Bowl, and even Kentucky hoops fans are getting excited for it. This afternoon at the game against Georgia, UK mascots Wildcat and Scratch donned Denver Broncos jerseys at halftime. They were also joined by Kentucky’s tight ends coach, Vince Marrow:
Kentucky produces some NFL talent.
Of course, the three Denver jerseys being worn are those of Jacob Tamme, Danny Trevathan, and Wesley Woodyard — all former Kentucky players. This afternoon’s basketball game was actually loaded with football recruits for Mark Stoops, and UK definitely had the mascots on board helping to sell the program. It never hurts to show young players that you are capable of sending them to the NFL.
The Wildcats took care of business, beating Georgia 79-54.
