For quite some time now, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been one of the most prominent figures to taste the rainbow. Lynch loves his Skittles candy, and eats it even during football games — his mother once dubbed Skittles his “power pellets” when he was a child and he has used them as in-game fuel ever since.
However, not until today has Lynch ever been paid by the candy brand to ever endorse its product. The connection between the player and the product had long been clear, and Skittles brand believed that a partnership had to be made official:
Per ESPN :
While specific terms of the deal are unknown, sources told ESPN that Lynch will receive financial compensation. The brand also will donate $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation every time he scores a touchdown in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The deal marks the first time the rainbow candy brand ever has paid an athlete.
The company will also produce a limited edition “Seattle Mix” of the candies which contains only blue and bright green colors:
This must seem like a dream come true for Marshawn Lynch — it’s a pretty sweet deal.
