Over the past few years, Nike chairman Phil Knight has transformed the University of Oregon into a college sports powerhouse. The Ducks routinely receive lavish gifts from Nike, and are known for sporting a ridiculous number of flashy uniform combinations thanks in part to a great relationship with the company due to the fact that Knight is an Oregon alumnus. Their colorful gear has drawn rave reviews from their players, and is a huge advantage for the school when it comes to recruiting.
Oh, and he also recently donated $68 million to build the much-appreciated Football Performance Center before this past season — that’s just one of the many gifts he has given to the program. It’s safe to say that he’s well-loved by Ducks fans.
At this coming Saturday’s game against USC, the school will honor its famous friend by giving away Phil Knight bobbleheads with the message “Thank You, Uncle Phil” on them — check ‘em out:
The game vs USC will air at 8:00 EST on the Pac-12 Network.
