Photos: Jim Boeheim Visits Syracuse Students Camping Out For Saturday’s Duke Game
While Duke is the school most famous for students camping out for basketball games, Syracuse students have been doing the same for years, except instead of sleeping out in North Carolina weather, Orange fans have to contend with the frigid Central New York winters. Syracuse has had a long break between home games—the last game at the Carrier Dome was January 18 against Pittsburgh—so students have been camping out for Duke for two weeks, a few of which had dipped into negative temperatures.
Today, Jim Boeheim, Mike Hopkins, and members of the cheerleading squad stopped by to thank the campers at “Boeheimburg.”
The appearance caused a bit of a stir among the Syracuse faithful:
