Video: Here Is The Final Play Where Vermont Failed To Get A Shot Off, Duke Escapes 91-90
The Duke Blue Devils had to avoid disaster tonight against Vermont, but they managed to escape with a win in front of a shocked crowd at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The No. 2 team in the country was given all if could handle from a Catamounts team that entered the game with just a 1-4 record on the young season.
After Rodney Hood hit one of two free throw attempts to put the Blue Devils up 91-90, Vermont had five seconds to go the length of the floor for the win. Sandro Carissimo brought the ball up the court and passed it to teammate Candon Rusin, who drove to hoop and hit a nice scoop shot. There was only one problem — he didn’t get the shot off in time, and it really wasn’t even close:
Duke moved to 5-1 on the season with the win, and were led yet again by freshman Jabari Parker, who totaled 26 points and nine rebounds.
