Florida is in the middle of an absolute nightmare season right now. The Gators, who started out 10th in the AP Poll this season, now find themselves sitting at 4-7 without any remaining chance to qualify for a bowl game in 2013. They are at the lowest of lows, having just lost at home to FCS-level Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Despite the rough record, head coach Will Muschamp believes the team isn’t as bad as it may seem — he made that clear in his Monday presser:
It’s true that some teams just need to make a few minor tweaks to experience big success — Auburn is the most recent example, going from 3-9 in 2012 to its 10-1 record right now heading into the Iron Bowl. It remains to be seen if Florida can make the same type of turnaround, but fans of the team at least know that Muschamp will be given a shot to make it happen — it was reported yesterday that the school will keep the head coach on for another season.
