Kevin Durant is on an absolute tear—he’s scored at least 30 points in nine straight games and leads the NBA in points per game with 31—and some fans are looking to give him a new nickname. Durant is already called ‘The Durantula’, or simply ‘KD’, but one NBA fan on Reddit started calling the prolific forward “Slim Reaper” based on his slender body-type and penchant for proverbially killing opponents on the court. The nickname has made its way around the internet over the last few days, and someone has even done a pretty impressive artistic rendering based on the name:
Unfortunately for “Slim Reaper” fans, it doesn’t sound like Durant wants the nickname to stick. He prefers people to keep it simple:
Nicknames are always better when they’re not forced and the players are on board, so I guess “KD” it is. It was a good effort, everyone.
