Video: Austin Hollins’ Monster Dunk Fuels Minnesota’s Upset
Minnesota senior guard Austin Hollins threw down a vicious and-one dunk late in the second half of Minnesota’s upset win over the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers.
Hollins, who is listed at 6-foot-4, exploded toward the basket as the shot clock wound down and went up and around the 6-foot-7 Badgers freshman forward Nigel Hayes to complete the highlight reel dunk.
The slam put the Gophers up 65-54 and elicited a series of bows from the “Barnyard,” Minnesota’s famed student section. He would complete the old fashioned 3-point play soonafter.
Wisconsin is the highest ranked opponent Minnesota has beaten on the season to date. The Badgers’ loss is their third straight in-conference for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
This border-state rivalry has raged for years, but this is certainly one of the best moments for the Gophers in recent memory.
