Charlie Strong had himself quite an opening press conference as head football coach of the Texas Longhorns today. After just getting into Austin with his family last night , Strong addressed the media this morning, cracking jokes and informing fans of the type of style that he was going to bring to the university — the one word we heard over and over again was “tough.” In fact, Strong had quite an, umm, interesting discussion about making the Longhorns the opposite of soft. In his own words: “If something is soft, you can always get it hard”:
Maybe something else was on Charlie’s mind this morning, because he also talked about meeting with Texas “boners” — he quickly corrected himself — donors:
I guess that Charlie Strong is really excited to be at Texas — he’s ready to get right down to business.
