Brian Kelly Says Everett Golson Has Officially Reapplied To Notre Dame
Notre Dame’s former starting quarterback could be Notre Dame’s future starting quarterback – that is, if the school allows him back on campus. Everett Golson, ND’s former signal-caller who was kicked out of the university for “poor academic judgement” earlier this year, has reapplied to Notre Dame. Coach Brian Kelly announced the news today during his press conference. A decision on whether he’ll be readmitted is expected to be made by mid-December.
The Irish are currently led by graduating senior Tommy Rees, so it’s expected to be an open competition for the starting job in 2014. Golson, if he’s a shell of his former self, should open camp (assuming he’s readmitted) as the favorite to land the role.
