Mack Brown Thinks Texas Should Be Ranked
The Texas Longhorns, who travel to West Virginia this Saturday, currently sit atop the Big 12 standings with a 5-0 record in-conference and a victory over a top ten program (Oklahoma). But it’s losses to BYU and Ole Miss earlier in the season that still seem to be weighing heavily in the minds of voters for both the Coaches’ Poll and the AP Poll – the Longhorns came up just short in both again this week.
Coach Mack Brown doesn’t like it. He thinks his team has done enough to warrant inclusion:
Texas’ latest victory was over Kansas, a program that has just two Big 12 victories since 2009, so it’s hard to put much stock in that result. On the flip side, the Longhorns looked dominant against Oklahoma, a team that has won the rest of its games this season. Regardless, UT should have the opportunity the shoot up the polls as the season winds down here – its last three games are all against ranked opponents – Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Baylor.
