College football teams do their best to prepare for anything and everything that may come at them in any given game. This week, as Pittsburgh gets ready to host Notre Dame at Heinz Field, the Panthers are taking their preparation to an entire new level: they have a live leprechaun mascot to distract players in practice:
This is actually something that Pitt has done before prior to playing Notre Dame (the Panthers must find the leprechaun particularly distracting or feisty for a mascot). They also blare Notre Dame’s fight song during practice:
The Notre Dame-Pitt matchup will be ABC’s national game of the week, and will air at 8:00 EST on Saturday night. Pitt expects to be more than ready to handle the Fighting Irish, or at least their mascot and band.
