South Carolina Wins 34-16, But Spurrier Says Miss St. “Out-Played And Out-Coached Us”
Steve Spurrier always knows just what to say to make an opponent feel awful. Today, his Gamecocks team moved to 7-2 on the season by beating Mississippi State 34-16 in Columbia. However, Spurrier was not very happy with South Carolina’s performance:
It’s quite obvious that Spurrier was not happy with his offense’s performance. While Connor Shaw did throw for four touchdowns, he only completed 50% of his passes and managed less than 150 yards through the air — it certainly wasn’t his best performance.
That being said, when your team more than doubles an opponent’s score, it’s hard to say that you were out-coached and out-played. I guess this is just another “Spurrier being Spurrier” type of quote that will leave Dan Mullen scratching his head in confusion.
