Video: Iowa’s John Lowdermilk Celebrates Early On Interception Return, Drops Ball Before End Zone
Iowa defensive back John Lowdermilk just had a gigantic “oops” moment in today’s Outback Bowl. Lowdermilk picked off an errant pass by LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings and returned it for a score, seemingly cutting the Tigers’ lead in half, 14-7. But replay showed that Lowdermilk dropped the ball just before he crossed the goal line, negating the touchdown. Check it out:
Luckily for Iowa, because the play was ruled a touchdown, the ball was given to the Hawkeyes on the half-yard line. Mark Weisman punched it in two plays later.
